چکیده
Background: Many plants possess therapeutic properties against infectious and non-infectious diseases, including cancer inflammatory diseases. Plants may have immunomodulatory properties, too. In this study, we evaluated the effects toxic of ethanolic extract from Lamiaceae family on macrophage, lymphocyte, B Cell Leukemia (BCL-1) in vitro. Materials Methods: Plant samples were purchased, their leaves was prepared by dissolving them ethanol (maceration) for 48 hours. The obtained dried at room temperature. normal lymphocytes macrophages extracted BALB/c mice BCL-1 cultured with different concentrations extracts 24 MTT assay performed to evaluate proliferation, Lactic Dehydrogenase (LDH)-based cytotoxicity measured. Results: We found that a concentration 1 mg/mL significantly increased lymphocyte proliferation (47% Origanum vulgare 95% majorana compared control group). Also, activity 35% after O. administration 23% dose mg/mL. Furthermore, LDH results prove (1 mg/mL) had no effect macrophages. finding showed (with IC50 1.04 1.6 could suppress growth BCL-1. Conclusion: activities dose-dependent manner. tested significant anticancer activity.

Natural antioxidants are receiving increasing attention in human and animal nutrition because of their association with food quality characteristics and immune responses [1,2]. Among a variety of plants bearing anti-oxidative constituents, the Labiatae family (mint plants) has been attracting the greatest interest [3], with particular attention to products from oregano (Origanum vulgare L.) and...
متن کاملAntioxidant capacity of Ocimum basilicum L. and Origanum vulgare L. extracts.
The antioxidant properties of five different extracts (Et₂O, CHCl₃, EtOAc, n-BuOH, and H₂O) of Ocimum basilicum L. and Origanum vulgare L. were studied. Antioxidant activity was assessed in six different model systems. Free radical scavenging capacity (RSC) was evaluated by measuring the scavenging capacity of extracts on DPPH, NO, O₂•⁻ and OH radical, as well as on hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂). In...

(+)-cis-Sabinene hydrate and (+)-trans-sabinene hydrate are the main monoterpenes found in marjoram (Origanum majorana), but can also be found in other Origanum species as well, as in e.g. Melaleuca alternifolia. The synthesis of sabinene hydrate in marjoram (Origanum majorana) is performed by sabinene hydrate synthase. It is claimed, that both, (+)-cis- and (+)-trans-sabinene hydrate are produ...
